PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT DALAM PERSIAPAN PEMBERIAN AIR SUSU IBU (ASI) EKSKLUSIF PADA IBU HAMIL DI DESA DARUNGAN KECAMATAN PARE KABUPATEN KEDIRI

Abstract

Breast milk is the best food for babies because it contains almost all the nutrients needed by babies with the composition according to the baby's needs. The problem of giving breast milk is related to the low understanding of mothers, families and communities about breastfeeding. The community service method was carried out in Darungan Village, Pare District, Kediri Regency, from December 2020 to January 2021. Exclusive breastfeeding training was carried out to increase understanding of pregnant women, health cadres and the community about exclusive breastfeeding so that in general the community would participate the success of exclusive breastfeeding. The method of implementing this activity is exclusive breastfeeding with a problem based learning method. The target of this activity is 35 pregnant women and health cadres in Darungan Village, Pare District, Kediri Regency. The results of this community service succeeded in increasing the knowledge of the trainees from an average value of 45, to a value of 88, and training with demonstrations of oxytocin massage also improved psychomotor skills with the results of the moderate category as much as 20% and good as much as 80%. The benefits of this activity are expected to be 100% exclusive breastfeeding coverage, there is no concern for mothers to breastfeed their babies with only breast milk until the age of 6 months without any addition (formula milk). In addition, it is hoped that there will be no more stunting cases because from the beginning the baby has had sufficient nutritional needs. ^{(Arial 9 Justify)}
