Edukasi Siaga Bencana Pada Anak Melalui Video Kartun Animasi

Abstract

Children are one of the vulnerable groups that must be prioritized in disaster management. Therefore, disaster preparedness education for children needs to be given from an early age so that they can have knowledge about disasters and how to deal with them early. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide disaster preparedness education to children through animated cartoon videos. This community service activity was carried out on October 7th to 14th, 2021. The target of this activity was 42 children at the State Elementary School 1 Besole, Besuki District, Tulungagung Regency, grade 4 and grade 5. Instruments in this activity include: 1) LCD Projector, 2) Laptop , 3) Pre-test and post-test sheets, 4) Stationery. This activity is carried out in accordance with health protocols to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. Before being given education about disaster preparedness, the children were asked to fill out a pre-test first, then after being given education, 3 days later the children were asked to fill out a post-test. The results of community service show that there was an increase in knowledge after disaster preparedness education is carried out through animated cartoon videos. Education delivered through animated cartoon videos looks more interesting and easy for children to remember.
