PELATIHAN MASASE PERINEUM dan PEMANFAATAN TANAMAN HERBAL untuk MENCEGAH COVID-19 PADA IBU HAMIL

Abstract

Pandemic Covid-19 situation requires efforts to control and prevent it, including by increasing body immunity. This can be done by utilizing traditional herbal plants, such as ginger, ginger, galangal, lemongrass. The use of herbal plants for pregnant women must consider the benefits and risks. so that pregnant women can choose and use them appropriately and wisely to deal with Covid-19. Research shows that during labor, about 40-80% of women experience lacerations in the birth canal. The impact of birth canal laceration is bleeding and the risk of infection, one of the efforts to reduce the risk of laceration of the birth canal is perineal massage, starting in the third trimester of pregnancy. Based on data from the Siborong-borong Community Health Center, it was obtained from 63 deliveries from January to June 2020, there were 95% of mothers who gave birth experienced perineal lacerations. This activity was carried out with the aim of increasing the knowledge of pregnant women about the prevention of covid-19 transmission, the use of home herbal plants to increase immunity and the skills to carry out perinenum massage. The implementation of the activity lasted for 3 days, taking place at the Pustu Desa Hariara I and Puskesmas Siborong-borong with 32 participants. After being given counseling, there was an increase in the mother's knowledge to be very good category 65.6%, enough 25%, less 9.3% compared to before counseling in the good category 12.5%, enough 37.5%, less 50%. Meanwhile, the level of skills of mothers in performing perineum massage was categorized as very high 28.2%, high 62.5%, low 6.3%, compared to before training in the high category 25%, low 75%. There is an increase in the knowledge of pregnant women about the prevention of Covid 19, the use of home herbal plants to maintain immunity, and an increase in the knowledge and skills of mothers in performing perineal massage to prepare for labor without birth canal laceration
