Deteksi Dini Kanker Serviks Dengan Pemeriksaan Inspeksi Visual Asam Asetat
Abstract
Cervical cancer is the second leading cause of death in women in developing countries. Efforts to prevent cervical cancer can be done by early detection using the IVA test method. In Bontosunggu Village, Galesong Utara District, Takalar Regency, almost all women aged 30-50 years have never check IVA test. The method used is health education by providing a pretest and posttest to the participants. This community service activity aims to increase the awareness of women in Bontosunggu Village in conducting early detection of cervical cancer through the IVA method. The method of implementation is to provide counseling on cervical cancer early detection material, and questions and answers with the participants. The activity of the IVA test was also carried out immediately after the counseling. The results obtained from this community service activity were increased knowledge of women in early detection of cervical cancer. There were 26 women who were willing to do the IVA test which showed that motivation increased after the implementation of the extension activities. Health education about early detection of cervical cancer can increase awareness of women in early detection of cervical cancer. In the next community service activity, order for IVA cadre screening can be carried out as well as a program to increase family support for women of childbearing age for early detection of cervical cancer.
