PENGARUH SCAPULAR STABILIZATION EXERCISES TERHADAP NYERI BAHU PADA PENGENDARA SEPEDA MOTOR MAHASISWA STIKES KARYA HUSADA KEDIRI
Abstract
Shoulder pain is one of problem that is often experienced and underestimated by motorcyclists after traveling. One of the efforts to reduce shoulder pain is Scapular Stabilization Exercises. The application of Scapular Stabilization Exercises will help motorcyclists to stabilize and increase the strength of their shoulder muscles to reduce shoulder pain. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of Scapular Stabilization Exercises on shoulder pain in motorcyclists. This research method is quasy experimental design with a population of students from STIKES Karya Husada Kediri level IV. This research involves 30 respondens who were divided into control groups and intervention groups using simple random sampling technique. The dependent variable in this research is shoulder pain dan independent variable is Scapular Stabilization Exercises. The pain scale was measured before and after the intervention was given for 3 days with the results of p value 0.001 < 0.05. The result of the research in the intervention group showed pain scale of 0 (20%), 1-3 (66.67%), and 4-6 (13.33%). While in the control group showed pain scales of 0 (0%), 1-3 (40%), and 4-6 (60%). The difference in average of shoulder pain scale between the intervention group (1.7333) and the control group (3.8667). This research can be applied not only to the shoulder pain of motorcyclists but also to shoulder pain due to overuse.
