KEMAMPUAN KELUARGA MELAKUKAN DETEKSI DINI GEJALA STROKE DENGAN DERAJAT KECACATAN STROKE
Abstract
The capability of families to early detection of stroke signs and symptom was one of the main factors in provided appropriate action or first aid for stroke patients. The aim of this research was to analyze the correlation between family capability to made early detection of stroke signs and symptoms with stroke disability degree in Payaman village, Pelemahan Sub- district. This research used a correlation design with a Cross Sectional approach, with a sample of 40 respondents used a total sampling technique. The results showed that some families were less able to do early detection of stroke signs and symptoms by 19 respondents (47.5%), and the stroke disability degree as much as 14 respondents (35.0%). Statistical analysis used the Spearman test obtained a P value of 0,000 <α 0.05 with a coefficient correlation value of -0.781 indicated that there was a strong correlation between the families capability to made early detection of stroke signs and symptoms with stroke disability degree. It can be concluded that families who were less able to detected early stroke signs and symptoms, the degree of disability was in moderate to severe. It was recommended for families to immediately contact emergency service in the event of a stroke on one of familar to got immediate service thereby reduced the risk of neurological deterioration, minimize disability, even death.
